t was a historic moment in the Federal University of Education, Kontagora, as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, officially launched the University new website aimed at enhancing communication, accessibility, and information dissemination for the University community. The event was witnessed by the following;
- Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna - Vice-Chancellor;
- Barr (Mrs Aisha Yakubu Bukar - Registrar;
- Mr Andrew Ibrahim - Director, Information and Protocol;
- Mr Bamigbola Adebimpe - Acting Director ICT; and
- Mr Bukola Akintola - Principal Programme Analyst.
The University website: fuek.edu.ng is
designed with multiple objectives, including:
- provision of accessibility to academic resources and information for students and staff;
- provision of timely updates on university events, news, and announcements;
- availability of a user-friendly interface for potential students and other stakeholders to navigate the university's offerings.
- enhancement of university's visibility in the digital space.
Mr Adebimpe Bamigbola and Bukola Akintola, from the University ICT Centre, presented the technical aspects of the website. They displayed the different fixtures in the University website such as:
- general overview of the university starting from the university gate.
- governance of the institution, including members of the Governing Council and the Management.
- Institutional data of the university, encapsulating the vision and mission of the university.
- integrated functionalities for academic resources, faculty information, and students' services.
- interactive features available for users, including forums and online application systems.
- News and events
- socials and sports
he Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Rashid Haruna, while appreciating the efforts of the ICT staff, expressed delight in the development, stating that the website represents a significant step towards modernisation ensuring that the Federal University of Education Kontagora is positioned amongst the leading Universities of Education in the digital landscape. He stated that all the departments, including the Registry, Bursary, Information and Protocol and Audit, would be automated. He added that classrooms would also have multi-media board.
The VC further challenged the staff of the ICT to organise an in-house workshop to sensitise and teach staff to be acquainted with the use of internet in the discharge of their work .
The Registrar, in her remarks, expressed excitement about the new resources available in the University stating that they would improve communication channels. She added that the facility would offer staff and students easy access to crucial academic information and enhance their overall university experience.
This initiative, by the dedicated staff of the ICT Centre, is highly appreciated.
